Actually they're not even cheerleaders on the pitch. It's the tournament volunteers in their bright pink shirts. The stands are bouncing. - Phenincx actually looked shocked herself that she had pulled that off. It has been so impressive from the Dutch. Eye-catching stuff.There are some cheerleaders on the pitch at half-time getting the crowd going with a rendition of YMCA. The Ireland fans seem to be loving the occasion regardless of the score.
- What a finish from Malou Phenincx! An absolute rocket. Fans of the English league will of course remember her spell playing indoor for East Grinstead. I don’t remember her doing anything like that, though.
- Ireland have nothing to lose - they're already a credit to their nation.They need to go out in the second half and show what they're made of. They need to be fearless and play their hockey - and not be intimidated by the Dutch.
- Two goals in two minutes right at the end of that quarter for the Netherlands. Is it beyond Ireland now? It's going to require a huge effort in the final 30.
- That was unbelievable from Malou Pheninckx. She took one step inside the circle and then unleashed a strike right into the roof of the net.Netherlands are cruising.

- Nicola Daly has been exceptional. She's got a bit between her teeth and she's leading by example.Ireland just need to get to half-time without conceding another goal.
- Kitty van Male is the top scorer in this competition with seven goals. Ireland's players have only scored six players combined. The Dutch attacker has an effort block but the whistle had already gone.It's another penalty corner for the Dutch.
- The Irish fans are still getting behind their team. The West Stand is packed with those supporting the side in green.
- The pressure is constant from the Netherlands. It's wave after wave of attack. You can see why this Dutch team is the best in the world. They're swarming all over the place.
- Shirley McCay's head rocks back after giving away another penalty corner. The ball rebounded up off her stick and into her arm...Brilliant stop! Last-ditch stuff on the line by Roisin Upton. That looked a certain third goal.
- There's still a lot of time left in this first period - the experienced Irish players need to step up here. There have been too many unforced errors from Ireland.They need to play more simple passes - play it to the first option you see - they need to out-Dutch the Dutch.
